Climate Element Adopted with Comprehensive Plan Update

We are pleased to announce that the San Juan County Council adopted the 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update (Comp Plan), including the new Climate Element, during the December 9, 2025, meeting and public hearing. The updated Comprehensive Plan is effective starting on March 13, 2026.

With the goals and policies of the Climate Element firmly established, we will carry forward this work in 2026 to complete development of the Climate Action Plan for implementation strategies and prioritized actions.
