County Publishes Results of Communications Survey
SAN JUAN COUNTY, WA. August 1, 2024 – San Juan County is pleased to publish the results of the Communications Survey. Throughout the spring of 2024, San Juan County conducted a Communications Survey in an effort to answer three key questions:
- How do SJC residents consume news?
- How do SJC residents want to be communicated with?
- What channels are most effective to foster community engagement?
The County advertised this survey with flyers around town, postcards, social media posts, press releases, paper copies sent to the Meals on Wheels program, and in-person pop-up sessions at the three senior centers.
Survey findings were presented to San Juan County Council in July of 2024.

The Communications Survey report (linked above and on the Engage webpage) captures the multiple choice responses. Respondents' answers to open response questions are captured in the Council presentation slides, also linked above and on the Engage webpage.
Respondent feedback will be implemented into the County's communications program. In the short term, staff will focus on updating agendas for accessibility, implementing a quarterly newsletter, and redesigning the website.
Please contact the County's Communications Coordinator, Erin Andrews at erina@sanjuancountywa.gov with any questions.
