Construction Update: September 12
The Bayhead-Killebrew Culvert Replacement Project is well underway, having begun on September 2nd with significant preparation prior to road closure and excavation, which began this past Monday, September 8th.
Progress is on schedule as the construction crew has excavated the southern half of the culvert, placed shoring, installed the first four of nine bottom sections of culvert, begun backfilling, and begun rebuilding the streambed within those sections.
Over the next few days, crews will finish constructing the streambed layer in the downstream half of the culvert, installing the culvert lids, and backfilling while simultaneously beginning to excavate the upper half and repeating a similar process there. The road is on schedule to reopen next Wednesday, September 17th.
